Papers of Joe Mills, a conservationist and chairman of the Wild Rivers Committee of the Sierra Club's John Muir Chapter, concerning the passage in 1968 of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, which pertained to three rivers in Wisconsin: the Wolf, St. Croix, and Namekagon. The papers also reflect Mills' personal outdoor ethic and his passionate argument for the preservation of wilderness. Reference files contain material on wild rivers in several states.
